Episode Holy Week: Managing Expectations
Every day of Holy Week describes a different aspect of who Jesus was, why He came, and how that’s good news for the world and us. This week we are going to follow Jesus through the events of what has been traditionally called “Holy Week.” Holy meaning set apart as special. And then “week” because there is a week’s worth of events that specifically show the expectations people had for what the Messiah would do, and the reality of the type of Messiah Jesus was.
Chapter 1
What makes a person truly happy? In this chapter, you’ll consider the “happiness equation”: reality minus expectations. Explore the role expectations played in the events of Holy Week in this conversation about what the group calls “Mystery Monday.”

Throughout our lives, we all experience failure and we all have regrets. But what happens when an unspeakable act is committed? In this chapter, you’ll look at the betrayal of Judas and the events of the “Wicked Wednesday” of Holy Week.
Chapter 4
On the Christian calendar, the Thursday before Easter is known as “Maundy Thursday,” when Jesus gave a new commandment to His disciples. In this chapter, you’ll revisit the story in John 13 and learn why this passage is such a critical shift from the Old Testament to the New Testament.

The week leading up to Christ’s death and resurrection is filled with dramatic events that changed the course of history. And in this chapter, you’ll be reminded that Easter is a celebration of the promise that Jesus will return and finally make all things right! It’s why we call this Friday “Good Friday.”
